02How it works

Four steps. Reliable measurement.

  1. STEP 1

    Power on

    Press the Power button. The display lights with tri-color backlight based on the detected moisture level.

  2. STEP 2

    Pick the mode

    Choose pin mode for absolute accuracy (probes into the wood) or pinless mode to measure without leaving a trace.

  3. STEP 3

    Calibrate the species

    DENSITY button to select among the 9 pre-calibrated species (fir, oak, beech, pine…).

  4. STEP 4

    Measure

    Place the device on the material. Moisture displays in %, the LED changes color based on threshold.

What is the difference between pin and pinless modes? +

Pin mode uses two metal probes pushed into the material to measure electrical conductivity — accurate to ±2 % but leaves two tiny pinholes. Pinless mode uses a spherical contactless sensor — convenient for surfaces you do not want to damage, ±4 % accuracy.

Which materials can I use it on? +

The EMR-H01 measures wood moisture (9 calibrated species) with a 6 to 60 % range in pin mode. It also measures construction materials (plaster, cement, brick, screed) between 0 and 33 %.

At what moisture level can firewood be burned? +

Below 20 % for optimal yield. Ideally between 12 % and 17 %. The EMR-H01 green LED lights below 12 %, yellow between 12 and 15.9 %, and red above 16 %.

Is the 9V battery included? +

Battery inclusion may vary by marketplace. Check your country Amazon listing for confirmation. A standard 9 V alkaline battery (PP3) gives about 200 hours of use.
