Does it work on standard drywall? +
Yes. The EMR-M11 detects metal studs through all standard drywall types (12.5 mm, 15 mm, 18 mm). Its magnetic power is sized for typical plasterboard thicknesses.
Does it need a battery or charging? +
No. The EMR-M11 is fully passive: it works thanks to N52 neodymium magnets. No battery, no charging, no screen to turn on.
What's the difference vs an electronic stud finder? +
Electronic finders need calibration at startup, a charged battery, and can give false positives on electrical wiring. The EMR-M11 only reacts to the metal mass of the stud — no interference.
Does it detect electrical cables or pipes? +
No. It only reacts to magnetizable metal masses (steel studs). That's a strength for accurate stud location, but the tool is not designed to detect electrical cables or plumbing.
